Questions from and responses to citizens:
Q: Can someone look into the flooding problem on my street?
TweetFrom Michele Riddick Battle
My street, drive way, and yard floods every time that it rains; my neighbors yards does the same thing. What can the city do do fix this? It has been going on since I moved to the neighborhood in 2002 and continues to get worse.
Michele Riddick BattleThanks for your question. We checked our records and we really don’t have a lot of complaints in our system at this location.
Our engineering information indicates that there are no drainage ditches - only shoulder drainage systems on your street, but these may need some attention.
I've forwarded your concern to our Streets Division and asked that they look into this and determine if there's any need for shoulder work to better handle drainage.
Again, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
