With about half of all land in Hampton located in the 100-year flood plain, flooding is an issue that affects a large segment of the city’s population. Currently over 11,000 Hampton households have a flood insurance policy. The City wants to ensure that its residents are receiving the latest information from their insurance agents regarding flood insurance options, coverage details and FEMA guidelines.
Air Force Tops In Blue Presents Free Concert

The U.S. Air Force’s Tops In Blue World Tour is making a stop in Hampton! The group, composed of the “best of the best” of military talent, will be presenting “Rhythm Nation,” an action-packed performance that brings the music of America to life.
The free concert will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, 1610 Coliseum Drive. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with the concert beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Fort Monroe Featured on Cover of 2012 Virginia Travel Guide
By Ryan LaFata, Hampton Convention and Visitors BureauFort Monroe, our nations' newest National Monument, has been chosen to grace the cover of the Virginia Tourism Corporation's 2012 Virginia Travel Guide. There are four different covers total. Attractions featured on the other three guide covers include Bluemont General Store in Loudoun County, Sandbridge in Virginia Beach, and the Heartwood artisan center in Abingdon.
The guide, available in print or electronic form at www.virginia.org, features information on new destinations, family favorites, wineries, and attractions that put love at the heart of every Virginia vacation.
